Mizeyesis

Mizeyesis is an internationally renowned Jungle and Drum & Bass DJ, producer, label owner, and cultural advocate whose career spans more than two decades. Since making her DJ debut in 2004, she has built a reputation for deeply musical, high-energy sets rooted in the full spectrum of Jungle and Drum & Bass. She is Co-Owner and U.S. Lead of DNB Girls, a longtime member of New England Junglists, and founder of the label and production imprint AETHRCRRNT Music.

Mizeyesis (pronounced “Miz-eye-sis”) is a play on the name of the Egyptian goddess Isis, with a meaning entirely her own: “Miz” reflects her connection to urban and hip-hop culture, “eye” represents her esoteric beliefs and spiritual perspective, and “sis” is a nod to her Black diasporic culture.

Since making her debut in 2004 and launching Threshold Sound in Connecticut, Mizeyesis has become a fixture in national and international DNB communities. She has toured extensively across the U.S. and abroad, playing renowned nights and venues including Respect (LA), Rupture (London), Renegade Hardware Weekender (London), Elements (Boston), DrivenAM (NYC), Black Box (Denver), Mechanix (Minneapolis), Refuge Nights (Florida), and Tao of Amen (Grand Rapids), as well as major festivals including Outlook, FractalFest, Submersion, Winter Music Conference, Tropical Dreams, and Tribal Gathering. Her résumé includes sets alongside LTJ Bukem, Remarc, S.P.Y., Digital, John B, Jumpin Jack Frost, Total Science, Ray Keith, Double O, Outrage, Loxy, Paradox, Chris Inperspective, Serial Killers, Sam Binga, DJ Flight, MSDOS, Breakage, Liondub, Empress, Reid Speed, Armani Reign, TRAC, Valiant MC, Sofi Mari, Zeds Dead, Doctor P, Flux Pavilion, and many more.

Mizeyesis made her production debut in 2015, beginning a discography that reflects the depth and range of her sound. Her first release was the “Sea Jah EP” (HEX002), a collaboration with Skru on the UK’s Hexagon Digital. She followed in 2016 with the “Convergence EP” (OmniEP106), a deep and atmospheric collaboration with AwakeFM on Omni Music. That same year, she began crafting “Seven Systems,” a seven-track EP released in 2017 via Faction Digital. Her discography continued to expand with releases and compilation appearances including “SoundBwoy Haze” on YESKA Beatz Unlimited and “Salvation” on Junglist Resistance, a 31-track international jungle compilation supporting charities fighting violence, hatred, and discrimination. She also contributed to JungleWars 2017 and collaborated with Rainforest on the “Rise of The Warrior” EP for Guidance in 2018.

In 2020, she contributed “Call to the Ancestors” to Repertoire’s Streetlight Volume 1 and released “Sultry” on JustBe, followed by “Warmth” on YESKA Beatz Unlimited in 2022. In 2025, she co-curated the DNB Girls XII compilation alongside Jams, contributing “Ease Up Junglist... Feel Nice” and “Return to New.” The compilation benefits Femme House, an organization dedicated to equity in electronic music. Her recent releases also include “Days Over” on Hangry Records’ Femme Frequencies, “Mitochondrial Pulse” on The Jah Rich Project, and “Karma” featuring Elijah Divine on Patrol The Skies Music’s 100th-release compilation. Additional productions are scheduled for release, including music through her own imprint, AETHRCRRNT Music.

Mizeyesis has been featured on the Bellyman Show (Origin UK) and hosted her long-running program The Aural Report on Jungletrain.net from 2011 to 2018. She has appeared on platforms connected with Hospital Records, Wu DJ Coalition (Wu-Tang DJs), AJA Music, Danger Chamber Recordings, and The Underground Lair, as well as Boston institutions and community platforms including Irie Bliss Wellness/PCMS, the Sunsets Boston Pop Up series, and Mr. Eyeslee Playground. She has also contributed guest mixes for artists including Antares and Polska, consistently advancing a forward-thinking sound and community-centered ethos.

Beyond performance and production, Mizeyesis is a cultural advocate and educator. Her work includes guest lectures at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Trinity College, as well as mentoring young women in music through Girls Rock. In 2022, she was honored in DJ Flight’s HerStory series for EQ50, celebrating Black women who have shaped U.S. Jungle and Drum & Bass history. She has also maintained an active community presence through advocacy and collaboration with organizations and collectives including Siren Project, the Female DJ Association, and Coven NYC, supporting greater femme representation in DJ culture and electronic music.

Mizeyesis is featured in the book All Crews alongside DNB Girls Co-Owner Jams for their work with the collective, with a chapter in the second edition documenting that history. Her work has also been featured by outlets and platforms including DJ Mag, UKF, Beatport, Best DNB, Proper DNB, and others.

With deep roots in dance, visual art, and music theory, Mizeyesis brings a distinctive musical perspective to the decks, moving through the full spectrum of Jungle and Drum & Bass from deep, atmospheric, and soulful selections to heavyweight breaks, bass, and soundsystem pressure.
